WORRY DOES NOT WORSHIP
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1John 4:18
Have you noticed that the days you waste sitting around and worrying about problems are more exhausting than days you actually moved around working hard to achieve something? Nothing in life is more terrible` than the unnecessary anxiety and stress we create for ourselves by worrying about burden that God commands us to cast upon Him. We worry when we allow fear to take over our minds and chase away faith. That is why you must always be on guard, screening the things that linger in your mind; the bible commands us to guard our heart because it affects everything we do. Worrying is like a rocking chair that keeps you going back and forth without getting you anywhere. Worry never fixes any problem and it certainly achieves nothing.
That is the reason why Jesus spent time talking to his disciples about the futility of worrying. Job was a tragic example of the destructiveness of worrying. He worried about everything in his life and his sacrifices to God were inspired by worry and not worship. That is why it was easy for the devil to access him and actually bring to pass all the things he worried about. Just take a moment and imagine what glory would have emerged from all the sacrifices Job made to God if he had done so out of worship and not fear. The same pattern obtains for a lot of people today who serve God and come to church because they are afraid that terrible things will happen to them if they don’t and not because they have heard the message of salvation and all the wonderful things that God has done for them through His Son, Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Saviour. Do not carry on in this fear and worry until the devil gets to you like he got to Job; let the love of God which is beyond human understanding take roots in your heart and cast away the fear that causes you to worry. There is no fear in love; those who worship God out of fear and worry must surrender their hearts and minds completely to Him so that His love can set them free.
