RECEIVE STRENGTH IN YOUR WEAKNESS-GOOD MORNING

RECEIVE STRENGTH IN YOUR WEAKNESS

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 1Corinthians12: 9 – 10

Back in the days before Jesus was made flesh amongst His people, adulterous women were an abomination to their community and the punishment for their sin was death. Mercifully, during the ministry of Jesus, a woman caught in adultery was brought to him for judgment. The woman was brought to Jesus because the Pharisees needed one more reason to condemn, reject and kill Jesus. They had called Jesus a friend of sinners and this sinner was brought to Him in her moment of weaknesses as a trap. But the woman’s weakness triggered the power of God; mercy flowed to cover her in her moment of weakness. Mercy brought the strength she needed to escape death.

Thus, while the people expected Jesus to strike the last nail that will seal her coffin, the Master unleashed the power of love, mercy and forgiveness. Jesus bowed His head and wrote on the ground, He asked anyone who was not guilty to cast the first stone; consequently, sin and death lost power. Let us learn from the experience of this woman; never run away from God in your moment of weakness. The moment to run as fast as you can to God is the moment when a sinful habit seems to overwhelm you or a difficulty (sickness, poverty, curse or affliction) is trying to destroy your testimony of God’s goodness.

The woman did not try to cover up her weakness by claiming she was innocent. She simply fell at the master’s feet and completely surrendered to His judgment. Why don’t you do the same today? Instead of trying to cover up and act like you are perfect, why don’t you surrender that bad habit that makes you live in sin? You can surrender that affliction to Him. You have no power of your own to confront them. Let the power of God rush in and strengthen you. Only then will you find strength in your weakness and live in liberty.

Prayer:

Mighty God, arise and destroy anything you did not put in my life, in the name of Jesus.
Every wicked enemy working against my destiny be paralyzed by the power of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.
