Pray Until Something Happens!
Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’”(1Kings 18:42-44)
The prophet Elijah was disgusted and grieved by the level of Idolatry that was being perpetuated by prophets
of Baal and in the name of the Lord he declared that there will be no rain for three years unless by his word. In the third year of the famine, God sent Elijah to go present himself to the king because He was going to send rain. Elijah brings all the people of Israel to Mount Carmel, with all 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah, who are supported by his wife, Jezebel so that the God who answers to the sacrifice offered to Him by fire, can be seen as God. Fire from heaven consumes Elijah’s sacrifice while the prophets of Baal are stranded and put to death.
Elijah tells Ahab to go home and feast on a good meal because a mighty rainstorm was coming, even as God had told him. But Elijah did not go to feast and sleep, he went up the mountain to pray for rain. This is a very important step I think is missing in the making of your miracle. You don’t slack in your prayer life because you received a prophetic word from the mouth of the prophet of God. Waiting on God begins in earnest when you receive a prophesy concerning your situation; you must wait on God until you see a sign of the miracle just as Elijah’s servant saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand.
Take a moment to reflect on the personal prophesies you have received concerning your life. Table those prophesies before God in prayer and don’t stop praying until you see a sign of the answer/miracle you need. You must pray until something happens
Liberation thought: God is able to do just what He says He will do.
