The two men accused of the murder of 13 year-old Shanoya Wray are scheduled to make their first appearance in court today.
They are 27 year old school teacher Sanjay Maharagh, who has been charged with murder, and Lenardo Maddan, a former medical student at the University of the West Indies, Mona. He is charged with accessory after the fact.
The teenager’s skeletal remains were found at a property on Whalley Close in St. Andrew on July 20. Investigators accused Mr. Maharagh, who is Trinidadian, of killing the teenager and using chemicals to destroy the body.
It was reported that Mr. Maharagh, who taught Shanoya, was charged last year by CISOCA after being accused of having sex with her. That matter is pending before the Home Circuit Court.
