A Jamaican-Canadian woman has been reunited with her son who was abducted more than 30 years ago as a toddler.
Jermaine Allan Mann was allegedly taken by his father when he was 21 months old during a visit to Toronto. He and his father lived under assumed names in the United States until late last week, when his father was caught, allegedly using falsified documents.
The arrest brought an end to efforts by police in Canada and the US to find the boy who went missing 31 years ago.
Mr. Mann, who is now 33, had been told that his mother died when he was a baby.
Over the weekend, his mother, Lyneth Mann-Lewis, flew to the US for their reunification on Monday.
Mr. Mann’s father, 66 year old Allan Mann, is facing charges of making false statements in the US. He also faces extradition to Canada on an abduction charge on completion of his prosecution.
