Witness identifies Uchence Wilson as “major participant” in the gang’s crimes
Alleged gang leader Uchence Wilson was on Thursday identified by the second crown witness as a major participant in scores of armed and violent robberies committed by his criminal network.
He was testifying at the trial of members of the Uchence Wilson gang.
The witness, a former member of the gang, testified that Mr. Wilson was fearless and members of the gang were reassured when he accompanied them on robberies.
He said the members looked up to Mr. Wilson, who is known to them as Terrence.
He also identified Fitzroy Scott as another gang member who collected proceeds from the robberies.
Uchence Wilson’s girlfriend, Shantel Gordon, was also identified as controlling money stolen by the gang.
The witness, who described himself as a driver for the Uchence Wilson gang, on Thursday told the Home Circuit Court the roles of the other members.
He said the gang would steal vehicles and scrap them based on orders for car parts.
Twenty-four members of the gang are now on trial under the anti-gang legislation.
A police corporal is among the group.
The trial, which is in its fourth week, will continue on Monday.
