Man nabbed for defiling five-year-old girl in Yola
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Abdullahi Adamu, aka Adati, 19, for defiling a five-year-old girl.
The spokesman for the command, DSP Suleiman Ngoroje, confirmed the arrest in Yola on Tuesday.
According to him, investigation led to the suspect’s arrest.
Ngoroje said, “Adamu, who is cooperating with the police investigators, had confessed to luring the little girl to an uncompleted building, where he forcefully penetrated her private parts repeatedly.
“The family of the girl were managing her because they did not what anybody to know about it until they could no longer manage the situation. It was a good Samaritan who took the girl to the Sexual Assault Referral Centre at the state Specialist’s Hospital.”
Adamu’s arrest marks a milestone in the quest to get justice for the five-year-old, who is currently battling for her life at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, following the alleged sexual assault by the suspect.
Doctors at the hospital are currently trying to perform corrective surgery to repair her damaged rectum and womb.
An uncle to the victim, Mustapha Ayuba, was initially suspected of committing the crime following a long-standing family dispute.
The police dismissed news making the rounds that the sexual assault was an act of revenge as a fallout of the family feud.
The police spokesperson said investigation had so far revealed that the suspect lured the victim to an uncompleted building and carried out the act of depravity to satisfy his lust.
Northern City News had reported that the victim was rushed to hospital following extensive damage to her vital organs as a result of the sexual assault
What they mean the family was managing her because they didn’t want nobody to know? TF! SMFH!, they should be arrested too.
