A MEEK SPIRIT IS BETTER THAN A BEAUTIFUL BODY-GOOD MORNING

A Meek Spirit is better than a Beautiful Body

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. (1Peter 3:3 – 4)

Fashion trends seem to change every four years as designers try to out-do each other with cutting edge designs that are aimed at enhancing the physical appearance and appeal of both men and women irrespective of race, tribe, tongue, religious or spiritual affiliations. The bible admonishes that beauty is a meek and quiet spirit and not physical adornments. The focus of true beauty is not the clothes worn, cosmetic applied to beautify the skin or the jewelry that enhances the general look.
Esther was chosen alongside other beautiful young maidens when king Ahasuerus wanted a replacement for Queen Vashti. They had a two-year beauty routine supervised by Hegai to prepare them for their moment with the king. But Hadassah knew that a heart that feared God and obeyed His commandments was the true secret beauty routine that was a winner for all times. She knew that no beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart. She submitted to Hegai’s authority and used only the things that she was told to use for her routines. Thus she found favour with all who saw her and emerged as the maiden the king loved and crowned as the new queen.
You could wear the best designer labels, accessories and cosmetics but if your spirit is haughty and rebellious you are not beautiful. Aspire and trust God for the Grace to have a meek and quiet spirit which is priceless before God.
