The 13-year-old Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha) student, who was allegedly shot by the police, last week, is now out of the Intensive Care Unit at the Kingston Public Hospital.
In an audio obtained by OBSERVER ONLINE, the school girl is heard giving thanks to everyone for their prayers.
“Thank you everybody, family, everyone, even the ones that I don’t know. Thank you for praying for me. I did the surgery and I came out successful, without dying,” the school girl said.
She went further to explain the surgical procedures she went through and asked for more prayers for another surgery she is to undergo.
“I won’t be coming out of the hospital [but] your many prayers and blessings I am feeling,” she said.
Meanwhile, The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), on Monday, revealed that five members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, who are attached to the Mobile Reserve Division, have been arrested in relation to the shooting.
INDECOM said the cops will be placed before the Parish Court as soon as an identification parade and interviews are conducted.
