In a memo to staff members, Alorica, a business process outsourcing company said it too learned of the positive test result today.
It said, however, that the employee has not been at work since Monday, April 6 and will remain off site until cleared to return.
The company also told staff members that over the weekend, the Portmore facility will undergo deep cleaning and sanitation.
It said, too, that individuals who were in direct contact with the infected employee are being informed and it will continue to keep in touch with them to ensure their well-being and confirm their health status.
Meanwhile, the company said the Health Ministry will on Tuesday conduct a site inspection and next week, employees will be notified when they should return to work.
“We are sharing this information with you promptly, not to cause alarm, but to prevent, fear, panic and rumours,” a spokesperson for the management told employees in the memo.
The company further said, individuals should use their own judgement to determine whether to consult a health care provider.
“Our thoughts are with this individual and any others who may be affected,” the spokesperson further said.
Hope the others aren’t infected. Wish the female a safe recovery.
