Chaos broke out at the intersection of East Queen Street and Duke Street in downtown Kingston, a short while ago after an alleged thief was chased and beaten by people in the area.
Reports are that about 9:30 am a female business operator raised an alarm after the man reportedly grabbed her chain.
The man, who appeared to be in his early twenties was chased and beaten.
He was later rescued by police officers who were nearby and witnessed the beating.
