Reports coming out of Clan Clarty High school are that six hundred out of a total of one thousand two hundred students are being sent home daily . The school has confirmed that their is a lack of school furniture to house the students and as a result they send six hundred students home daily. Minister of Education, Ronald Thwaites spoke on the situation, and stated that Clan Clarty’s principal presented the ministry with a list with a total of four hundred chairs, the ministry provided two hundred. The school was expected to purchase the other two hundred on their own. Thwaites also said that, the school does have an increase in their student body because they have taken in more students this year than last year and have also extended their grades by housing a sixth form….stay choon fi di res

CLAN CARTHY HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE
I visited Clan Carthy High School (1 Deanery Road, Kingston 3) and met with the senior vice principal, Ms Wilma Daley. She is to meet with the Minister of Education today. About 200 desks and chairs are needed. For more information, she can be contacted at the school on 9282008. I saw classrooms with obvious space where school furniture should be, including this new classroom with absolutely no desks or chairs:

Path students of Black River High school are being asked to contribute $100 towards their lunches this year. Path, a government program that assists students who are from homes that are unable to provide fully for them was expected to provide lunches to the children on the program. The principal of Black River High confirmed that Path program children are indeed being asked to pay $100 for lunches which is half the cost of regular lunches . He further stated that the Path program only provides lunch for three days and as a result the school’s cafeteria had to close because it was unable afford lunch for the days when lunch was not provided to the school by Path.

    1. Jamaican government won’t allow it! They want you to give the money to the politicians, so they can choose the contractors and how to spend the money where they want it. There are plenty of people willing to build but the JAMAICAN GOVERNMENT IS GREEDY AND CORRUPT.

      1. Right on the nail!!!!!!! They want to use their contractors… its ALL POLITRICKS!!!!!!!!!!

This school is just a small look into the entire system!!! Sending kids home from school?! I never hear dis in life! From I was birth

  2. Speechless. Ministry gave 200 chairs and the school budget was to acquire the other 1/2…where is that half? Why these principals wait till things festa fi let ministry know? Don’t they do inventory or know the total of the student body for the upcoming school year?

The path lunch story a damn foolishness. Who the phuck a purchase the items to cook lunch that the budget not sufficent for five school days? Bitch ass principal dem a skim and purchase from dem friends and family!

These old bitches who hell bent pon dem christian pride and old backside methods a oppress progress! That principal need fi move on and let a new age person take over. Simple computer database/excel can keep track of school assets and student body, so this disgrace wouldn’t even come about!
