CLARENDON GETTING AIR LIFTED SUPPLIES

With some communities in Clarendon still inaccessible following this week’s flood rains, emergency supplies are being airlifted to residents of the affected areas.

Teams from the Ministry of Social Security have been dispatched to distribute supplies such as food and mattresses to persons in flood-ravaged communities. However, Social Security Minister Shahine Robinson said on Wednesday that some areas are posing a challenge for the teams.

“We can’t reach all of them because we have communities that are cut off and we are coordinating with ODPEM (Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management) to airlift food into some communities,” she revealed.

The most affected communities include Trout Hall Pass and Whitewood Hall, she said.
