DENHAM TOWN MAN KILLED IN COLD BLOOD

SOME residents of Denham Town, West Kingston, yesterday staged a protest in front the police station in the community against last Friday’s fatal shooting of a music promoter.

The mid-morning demonstration was disrupted by the police, but the placard-bearing residents marched to North Street where they blocked the road with debris that they set ablaze.

The police were able to bring that situation under control and maintained a presence in the area.

Yesterday’s protest is the second since Richard ‘King’ Medley’s killing around 2:00 am at his girlfriend’s home on Elgin Street in the West Kingston community.

His lover, who was present at the time of the killing, and residents are claiming that Medley was killed in cold blood.

The woman said that Medley came to her house around 2:00 am, and that police came knocking her door a short while later and were allowed inside after saying they were searching for gunmen.

The woman said that the police came inside the room where she and Medley were in bed, and after a brief conversation told Medley to get his phones and come with them. She said Medley was shot several times while reaching for his cellular phone.

She claimed further that after Medley — a father of three children — was killed, a gun was planted on him by the police.

The Independent Commission of Investigation is probing the incident.

  1. I so hope this is not true, why do the police officers not just do their job and stop killing the citizens
