DON’T BE FOOLED BY WHAT YOU SEE
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:24 – 25
Our eyes could sometimes be an obstacle in our walk with God if we train our hearts to believe only what our eyes can see. The world says “seeing is believing” but the Bible says if you believe, you shall see. The devil’s trick is to crowd your sight with situations and circumstances that contradict the Word of God and frustrate your destiny. But the Bible says we do not look at the things that are seen because they are temporary and subject to change. Let every wicked situation or evil circumstance afflicting you right now become a lie and let God’s tender loving kindness and grace be the truth that you see.
Sarah laughed when she heard that she was going to have a child because she could see her body. She saw that she was an old woman who had gone past menopause and it was biologically impossible for her to have a child. She laughed even more because she could see that Abraham was an old man and biologically it will be impossible for him to still be fertile enough to father a child. But it is our hope in God that gives us the courage to go on and trust Him beyond the reality that we face. We hope because we live a life of faith and not because we can physically see what we hope for.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Hebrews 11
The only thing necessary to keep hope alive is faith because it guarantees the fact that hope will not be disappointed. The Bible is full of promises of God’s blessings for you in every area of your life. They may sound like just mere words because you do not see the manifestation of these blessings upon your life but God’s Word does not fail; the Words that have gone out of His mouth concerning you will accomplish what they were spoken for and prosper in it but you must patiently wait for this to happen.
