The Trinidadian police have determined that the $6 million worth of ganja which was found among a shipment of beers to Trinidad on Friday originated in Jamaica.
Twelve duffel bags and a crocus bag were seized during unloading of the container at the Caribbean Bottlers Limited compound in Macoya.
Officers from the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit said the drugs weighed more than 400 kilograms.
Investigators are liaising with their counterparts in Jamaica in the high profile probe.
The container in which the drugs were found came from Mexico but made a brief stop in Jamaica.
No arrest has been made.
