GANGSTER FREED OF MURDER CHARGE SMH

An alleged gang leader from African Gardens in August Town, St. Andrew, who was on trial for the murder of a policeman, was freed of the charge on Wednesday.

The seven member jury was unable to arrive at a verdict of murder against Michael Scott, otherwise called Titty Man, for the fatal shooting of Constable James Grant.

However, Scott was found guilty of shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He is to be sentenced later this month.

Constable Grant was killed on September 22, 2014 during a shootout between the police and gunmen in African Gardens.
