JOEY Brooks is enjoying some traction with her latest song, Serenity, a duet with her Live MB Music Productions label-mate Jay Prince.
The 28-year-old singer is not surprised that the single is doing well.
“We have great chemistry together, and the response to the song has been excellent. It’s been great,” she said.
To promote Serenity, Brooks and Jay Prince shot a video in Portland in May. It was directed by Ramon Lindsay.
The sister of deejay Mavado, Joey Brooks made her first appearance on the music scene in 2008 with the ballad, Heart Beat, produced by Ariff Butler.
She followed up with a handful of singles, before giving the music business a break to study nursing and become a certified nurse.
Back in the game, she hopes the positive response to Serenity is a sign of things to come.
