A humanitarian report submitted by the United States stated that while Jamaica is doing better than previous years in regards to violence. The report further stated that while the Jamaican government has not restricted online access to its citizens it has has credible information that the government been illegally monitoring private conversations of its citizens. Nationwide news , the media house covering the story contacted the Minister of Technology, Phillip Paulwell and Minister of Communication Mr Golding they were told to contact Minister Bunting, the Minister of Security. Bunting stated that he was overseas and could not respond further.

Does the Jamaica Government have an Electronic Communications Privacy Act ? If not, they can do what they feel like doing and if they do have a privacy act then they better be careful…
Total bullshit, since they cannot do anything with the information collected. However, I’m all for monitoring the calls if it will lead to the arrest of known criminals and murderers.
