The cause of death for a woman who was found in the Queen’s Park Savannah on Wednesday is said to be strangling.
Asami Nagakiya, a Japanese woman was strangled, according to an autopsy conducted at the Forensic Sciences Centre Thursday morning.
Up until this morning’s autopsy, the police had said they did not know what lead to her death, although marks of violence – including a slash on her arm – were seen.
Nagakiya is described as a well known pannist from Japan who was a frequent visitor to Trinidad and Tobago Carnival to participate in Panorama.
She played mas with Legacy and was discovered still in her costume. Details are still sketchy
