Police deployed to quell Rockfort, Mountain View violence
The police were deployed to sections of Rockfort and Mountain View Avenue in St. Andrew on Thursday following another flare-up of gun violence.
The shooting has again caused tension in the Olivia Road-Jarrett Lane communiities.
According to reports, shots were heard in the Pleasant Heights area approximately 7 o’clock.
Superintendent Victor Hamilton, head of the East Kingston Police Division, said the police intervened and the shooting ended.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the shooting.
Superintendent Hamilton said the violence continues despite the arrest of several suspects.
He has appealed for residents to remain calm as the police conduct operations in area to restore order.
Superintendent Hamilton also urged citizens to report what they know to the police.
