As RJR News continues to monitor the situation in Dominica which was hard hit by Hurricane Maria a week ago, attention has turned to the status of Jamaicans living in the country.
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) says some of the Jamaicans have already left Dominica. Consideration is being given by the Jamaican authorities to have them transported home.
The Government has instructed the ODPEM team to assist in locating Jamaicans who are still in Dominica.
A team from the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) will be heading to Dominica today. It will assist with the recovery effort. The team will comprise engineers and logisticians.
