Angry father accused of killing mentally challenged man with concrete block
A man who reportedly used a concrete block to hit a mentally challenged man in his head, killing him, after claiming he was defending his son, was further remanded when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last week.
Andrew Lindsay, 28, otherwise called “Indian” of Rum Lane in Kingston, is charged with murder in relation to the death of David Hutchinson, 36, of Blake Road in Kingston.
Allegations are that on September 19, 2017, Hutchinson was at the intersection of James Street and Beeston Street in downtown Kingston when he had a dispute with Lindsay’s son, whom he reportedly assaulted.
Lindsay, upon learning of the incident, reportedly confronted Hutchinson and an altercation developed during which he used a block to hit Hutchinson on the right side of his head.
Hutchinson, when he was hit, reportedly fell to the ground and got up and ran off, but fell down again and was unresponsive.
He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead, while Lindsay was pointed out on the scene and was arrested.
Lindsay, when he was cautioned, reportedly told the police, “Him lick mi son and mi go defend it.”
On Friday when he appeared in court, he was remanded and the matter was transferred to the Committal Court for mention on April 6.
The accused, who first appeared in court last October, was previously refused bail.
The court was also previously informed that Lindsay had been charged with murder three years ago but the charge was dropped because the witness did not come forward.

The lord works in mysterious ways…I’m sorry someone else had to die before this evil dogs hit get put away but some things were just meant to be yah man. I’m guessing the first murder he was charged for was gun related why the witness failed to come forward. One observation I’ve made about my Jamaican people, they are very reluctant to point out a gun murderer but Any other murder weapon and the killer gets named immediately and if him bad lucky him might get instant justice. The son seem like him heading down the same path as the father somebody need fi kill him before him breed..with a stone please.
