A landlord accused of holding onto the breast of his female tenant and stuffing a piece of paper into her underwear appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday on an assault charge.
However, the 52-year-old accused, Everton Dale of Rodney Avenue in Kingston, pleaded not guilty to the charge, resulting in Magistrate Maxine Ellis extending his bail and setting a court date for December 18.
According to the police report, on October 30, at 7:48 pm the complainant was on her way to Maxfield Park to visit a friend when Dale saw her and followed her, saying “You”.
The complainant, the police said, did not respond and the accused reportedly continued following her, saying “Hey, hold dis.”
But the complainant ignored him.
When she got to her friend’s home, Everton allegedly held her by her left breast, pushed her into the yard, pulled away the side of her shorts and underwear and stuffed a piece of paper inside her underwear, then walked away.
The complainant shook the piece of paper from her underwear, used plastic to take it up from the ground and took it to Everton’s home where she flung it inside.
She then reported the matter to the police who subsequently charged Everton
