PARTNERSHIPS MAKE THINGS POSSIBLE
I remember when we met and agreed to hosting the concert and booking Fantasia to perform in Jamaica. While I was in office, I particularly enjoyed the strong partnership which developed with the US Embassy and the value that it placed on our culture especially our music.
Thank you to the US Embassy for believing in Jesse Royal and Romain Virgo and making sure that our young people had an opportunity to enjoy wholesome entertainment at no cost. It was a bold idea but one which placed the exceptional talent of our Jamaican artists at the feet of our people. When you give Jamaicans the best of who they are it soars their confidence and the world stands back to hail the power in a Jamaican. That’s Value!
The Power of our culture is undoubtable, unshakable and unmistakable to the rest of the world. I was proud of the fact that the visits to Edna Manley proved fruitful. Jamie Wilmot received the chance to perform live on stage with Grammy award-winning Fantasia.
It brought tears to my eyes to see how when humility meets opportunity miracles are possible! I hope that the US Embassy Jamaica will continue to support the people of our beloved nation. We deserve the best of everything. Thanks Joshua Polacheck (Public Affairs Officer) it was great to see this happen last evening.
