And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity (Luke 13:12).
When the storms of life come beating violently against us, we tend to feel like we are all alone and God doesn’t care about us. In fact it feels more like God has abandoned us. The works of darkness have a capacity to make us blind to what God is doing at any point in time. It is so because things become invisible in the darkness. The woman with the infirmity was bent over by the evil spirit that was oppressing her health. In spite of the fact that there was a large noisy crowd that followed Jesus everywhere He went, the woman was not even aware that Jesus was close to her. But Jesus, the Lover and savior of her soul saw her walking past and called her and loosed her from her infirmity. He proclaimed liberty over her and she was immediately free
What is that situation that has taken your eyes and attention off Jesus and made you focus on painful condition? What is it that troubles your heart so much that like the woman in Luke 13, you can’t even hear God calling out to you to come over and be set free? Jesus is even closer to you today than He was to the woman bowed over with infirmity. Besides you have already been set free from every work of darkness, life has been given in replacement of the destruction thrown at you by the devil. Jesus has come to you this day by His word, receive the abundant life He is offering you.
Liberation thought: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)
