Three men, including one who was listed as wanted by the St James police were taken into custody following the seizure of lottery scamming paraphernalia at Bogue Hill in the parish on Saturday.
The three were arrested during a special operation by police officers from Area 1, according to a report from the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU).
The men have been identified as Sean Headley, otherwise called “Tall Man”, who was wanted for rape. CCU said he was arrested and a warrant issued by the St James Parish Court for absconding bail executed on him.
The other two are 22-year-old Dennis Brown, otherwise called “Bobby”; and 29-year-old Orane Smith, otherwise called “Bond”, both of Bogue Hill. They were charged for possession of identity information.
According to the police, 27 people were arrested during the operation and 20 abandoned premises were searched. During the search, more than 2,000 pieces of papers containing names, addresses and telephone numbers of people residing overseas were seized.
Investigations are ongoing, police say.
