The constable attached to the St. Elizabeth Police Division, who was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of theft, was charged and placed before the St. Elizabeth Parish Court on Tuesday. He is 25 year old Shawn Spencer. Constable Spencer has been charged with simple larceny. He was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 with surety. Constable Spencer is to return to court on September 9. He was taken into custody on July 4 following an early morning operation in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth. It is reported that the constable was part of a team which searched a house. After the search, the occupant of the house reported that $95,000 was missing. The cops who were involved in the operation were reportedly searched and the constable allegedly found with the missing cash.
