MAINTAIN YOUR DELIVERANCE
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ Mark 12:29 – 30
It was a typical day in the ministry of Jesus. The people were doing their possible best to trap him and find a good reason to kill Him. He had just told them the story of the wicked farmers who killed all the servants the owner of the farm had sent to collect his own share of the fruits. Finally, the farmer had to send his only son to see if he could collect his own share of the fruits but the farmers also killed him and threw him out of the vineyard. The Pharisees knew Jesus was referring to them in the story and they began asking questions just to trick Him. Today’s text is an answer to one of their questions and is very important in our walk with God; the Lord our God is the one and only Lord.
The word Lord, is defined as a title for a person or divine being who has authority, control, or power over others. A Lord is a master, chief, or ruler. Jesus declared that God is the one and only Lord; divine being who has absolute authority and power over all things. This makes it illegal for anyone, anything or circumstance to have authority and power over you. Your ancestors entered into covenants or did things that triggered and set some wicked law enforcement against you but Jesus, the Lord of lords, defeated all evil law enforcement on the cross, died and rose to give you a new life under a new law. This new law is operational in the lives of those who love the Lord our God with all their hearts, soul, mind and strength. Just as you cannot serve two masters at a time, you cannot live under two laws at a time. So, do what it takes to live under the law of God so that you will not live under evil laws and the way to live under the law of God is to obey God’s law (which is Love). It is important to be delivered but the way to maintain your deliverance is to love God completely.
