MAN CHARGED WITH MAKING BOMB THREATS

It has been revealed that 53 year old Cordel Clarke, who was charged in connection with bomb threats which disrupted sittings at courthouses in Kingston and Trelawny last year, was fatally shot during an attack in Braco, Trelawny on July 8.

Three men have been charged with his murder.

It was reported that one of the accused, 35 year old Dwayne Foster of Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, who was in police custody in relation to an illegal gun, gave Mr. Clarke money to post bail for him.

It is alleged that Mr. Clarke failed to post bail and this led to Mr. Foster conspiring with 25 year old Romario Green and 23 year old Oshane Brown, who were in custody with him, to kill Mr. Clarke when they were released.

When the bomb threat case came up for mention in the Trelawny Parish Court on Thursday, the court was informed that Mr. Clarke had been killed.

The presiding judge set the case for mention on October 31, when a post-mortem report is expected to be submitted.

At that time, the matter will be removed from the court’s case-list.

Superintendent Kirk Ricketts, head of the Trelawny Police, who confirmed the death of Mr. Clarke, said he was killed shortly after posting bail in another matter, a robbery.

A district constable, who was also charged in connection with the bomb threats, was freed in April.
