A man, who was arrested last year after he was allegedly found in possession of 18 pounds of ganja, was freed on Tuesday when he appeared in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court.
Wilbert Brooks had been charged with possession of and dealing in ganja.
He was freed after it was proven that he had the ganja for religious purposes.
Documents were presented in court Tuesday confirming that Mr. Brooks was authorized by his church to transport the ganja in accordance with the Dangerous Drugs Act.
