MAN TRIES TO SHIP GANJA IN BOOK

A man who pleaded guilty to attempting to ship one pound two ounces of ganja in a cookbook to Curacao via DHL was remanded when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court recently.

Twenty-four-year-old Oshane Coldspring pleaded guilty to possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and taking steps to export ganja.

When Coldspring appeared in court he, at first, pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered remanded. However, a few minutes later he changed his plea to guilty.

Reports are that Coldspring went to DHL headquarters in New Kingston, and attempted to ship two cookbooks.

A check of both books later revealed that one contained a substance resembling the weed.

The police was subsequently summoned.

The cops, in search of Coldspring, went to the address he produced at DHL when it was found to be fictitious.

Still in pursuit of Coldspring, the police say that they patrolled the area, where he was eventually spotted.

The court was told that when the police accosted Coldspring an illegal gun was found in his possession.

Pending a forensic certificate, a September 12 mention date was subsequently set.
