The Mario Deane case is expected to make a further step on the international stage when his mother makes a presentation overseas next week.
Mercia Frazer, will be attending and making submissions at a hearing at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
The hearing will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay on Monday.
Miss Frazer is attending the hearing with representatives from Amnesty International and Jamaicans for Justice.
Mario Deane was beaten to death in August 2014 while in custody at the Barnett Street Police Station in St. James.
INDECOM conducted an investigation following which members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force were charged.
