Dancehall insiders are raving about a new Joey Brooks single, where she has teamed up with reggae star Jahvinci for a project that will rock the dancehall industry. Released on the Live MB label, the ice cream smooth single is called ‘Touch Me’.
“The song was mixed by Red Boom, a lot of people are excited about it already, we’re going to release it this week on the Live MB label, and we are definitely doing a video for it. Jahvinci’s vocals on the song are amazing, he is so amazingly talented…he sounds like an R & B star and he forced me to raise my game as well,” an excited Joey Brooks said.
The single will be officially released this week, and will eventually be distributed through iTunes and other digital distribution outlets.
Two months ago, she created waves with ‘Serenity’ featuring labelmate Jay Prince. The video for that project is still in rotation on local video and cable channels. That song is bubbling on several local reggae charts, and at least one major chart in the UK.
The 28-year-old singer made her first appearance on the music scene back in 2008 with a soulful love ballad titled ‘Heart Beat’, produced by Ariff Butler and released on the Bloozic imprint.
In the ensuing years, she recorded a handful of singles that enjoyed strong rotation on local radio stations, but then in 2013 she went back to school to study nursing and became a certified nurse.
Signed to Live MB Music Productions under the management of Michael Barracks, Brooks is confident that it won’t be long before she becomes a household name.
“I plan to release a lot of songs this year and I will also be doing a lot of shows,” she said.
