Attorney Jerome Dixon has been disbarred by the General Legal Council (GLC).
The decision was handed down by the GLC earlier this month.
He was brought before the Council by another attorney who was acting on behalf of a client.
The matter relates to Mr. Dixon’s mishandling of a transaction from a judgement debt against his client leading to him being found guilty of professional misconduct.
Mr. Dixon has also failed to pay over, to date, the balance of $2.5 million from the $4.6 million judgement awarded to the complainant’s client in 2015.
The GLC said all three hearings were held in Mr. Dixon’s absence as he submitted a letter ahead of the first meeting indicating that he had suffered an injury, promised to submit a medical report and requested that the hearing be adjourned.
The GLC said it proceeded with the meeting.
Mr. Dixon was not present for the subsequent hearings and no medical report was sent.
In July this year, the attorney was charged by the Fraud Squad for alleged breaches of the Forgery Act in relation to another land transaction.
Mr. Dixon was charged with Forgery, Uttering Forged Documents and Demanding Property with Forged Documents.

She was issued an interim payment of 10 million dollars and if she hadn’t brought it to media attention and the journalist investigated she would not have known that her lawyer was given the payment. All of a sudden the next day the millions was transferred. It seems they were waiting for her to succumb to her illness. Old crook!
Please correct me if I am wrong but it was just brought to my attention that Jerome Dixon is also from the firm Dixon & Associates, maybe Mrs. Dixon needs to be brought before the GLC as well. I wonder who else has an issue with this firm

I saw the story about the Nurse that is exactly what i said to myself.It look like they were waiting for her to die then pocket the money.Shameful!
