Mona High student collapses in HWT, dies

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A second form student of the Mona High School died yesterday after collapsing in Half-Way Tree.

Dead is Darnell Foster, who the Ministry of Education say was rushed to hospital “where he regrettably died.”

Minister of Education Ruel Reid, who is currently in the United Kingdom participating in an Education Forum, has expressed condolences to the family, and will visit the school on Thursday morning on his return to the island.

The Education Ministry said that its Trauma Response team has been dispatched to the school where grief counselling is being offered to staff and students.

  1. The government and private sector need to work out a plan to subsidize the cost of medical check up for all students. I’m talking comprehensive dental n medical primarily heart checks.

    We are failing from the simple stage of at least diagnosis of the various issues children have.The early detection of say a heart murmur can save a live.Rest in power lil yute.
