St. James police have come in for more criticism from the mother of the American woman who was found dead in bushes in Anchovy, St. James on November 26.
Andrea Cali-Gibbon has accused the police of mishandling the investigation into the murder of 26 year old Desiree Gibbon.
Speaking with Pix11 News in New York, the mother said the entire ordeal has been a “nightmare” for the family.
Mrs Gibbon complained that her daughter’s body was not properly cared for and that the police mishandled evidence that could have helped in the investigation.
She said the police did not collect data from the cellphone Desiree was using while in Jamaica, neither did they obtain any evidence from items found on the woman’s body.
The Jamaica authorities have not reponded to the claims.
The body of Desiree Gibbon was found about 20 minutes away from the hotel at which she was staying with her throat slashed and bruises throughout her body and wrist.
Her mother believes the killers were known to her daughter.
Reading this has made my blood boil from 0 to 1000.
