MR. VEGAS EUPHORIA CHARITY CONCERT
EVENT DATE: Dec 14, 2014
DAYS TO GO: 31
THE STORY:
The Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is a faith based non-profit organization in Kingston, Jamaica. Founded by Monsignor Gregory Ramkissoon under the principle of caring in 1978, the organization has remained committed to helping those in need.
Today, MSC serves over 500 children, young adults and families who belong to the most vulnerable groups in our society. The population of their homes include children and young adults with disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS and teen mothers along with their babies. While the Government offsets a percentage of the organizations monthly operational costs, they are still in dire need of funds. It costs the MSC over $ 50 million annually to run the HIV Child Care Centre alone. This does not include food (three daily meals ) or the over $ 5 million in annual overhead costs for the three facilities run by the organization. MSC was until recently, the annual recipient of a container shipment of food from an overseas donor. However, the donor has fallen ill and is unable to continue this effort. They need our help…your help, to handle daily expenses.
A GROWING NEED
Clifford Smith, more popularly known as Mr. Vegas has been donating to the organization out-of-pocket since his first visit there eight years ago. Mr. Vegas has already committed funds to start the process of acquiring a container shipment of food for MSC and has decided to host a concert to raise funds to assist with this shipment.
The concert, dubbed Euphoria, will be held on Sunday, December 14 , 2014 at the Lime Golf Academy in New Kingston. The event will feature overseas performances from the 1980’s R&B Band Champaign and R&B Singer , Karyn White alongside local Jamaican acts including Mr. Vegas , Latty J, Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin and Kevin Downswell.
SPREAD THE LOVE and DONATE
We would love to get your assistance in donating to this charity concert in order to benefit the Mustard Seed Community children and young adults. We can certainly spread this word and reach our goal before the charity concert and help bring smiles to these children for the holidays and beyond!
