Two New York men may think twice before using Stamford as a place for a recreational smoke.
Narcotics and Organized Crime officers on routine patrol near the Stop and Shop parking lot on West Main Street Friday night saw two men sitting in a car on Alvord Lane who appeared to be smoking marijuana.
An investigation turned up more than weed. Police said the men were carrying 45 forged credit cards and nine pre-paid gift cards, also forged.
The MasterCard and Visa credit and gift cards were in the two suspects’ names, police said.
Shawn Thompson, 30, of the Bronx, N.Y., and Kacy Livingston, 25, of Bayshore, N.Y., each were charged with possession of marijuana, interfering with police and multiple counts of second-degree forgery.
The two were also carrying fake identification cards from Illinois, Capt. Richard Conklin said. The investigation is continuing, he said.
