Detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are probing the alleged rape of a minor in the Lucea police lock-up in Hanover.
The incident reportedly took place on Monday evening while the 15 year old was in custody.
It is alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a constable on duty at the holding area.
Superintendent Charmaine Shand, head of CISOCA, told RJR News that the girl was taken to the police station after she was remanded by a judge who ruled that she was in need of care and protection.
She said the teenager was awaiting transportation to a Place of Safety when she was sexually assaulted.
Investigators are preparing a file for submission to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Another policeman, a sergeant attached to Denham Town Police Station, is also being questioned by investigators for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
Superintendent Chand said the case involves a 16 year old girl.
The DPP will also receive a file on that case.
