POLICE AMONG 19 ARRESTED FOR LOTTO SCAMMING

A police officer and seven females are among 19 persons arrested during Anti-Lotto Scam operations carried out across five parishes.
Head of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch C-TOC, ACD Devon Watkis, revealed that seven of those taken into custody, including the cop, will possibly face extradition.
Cash, amounting to $1.8 million and a motorcar were seized by the police in the raids carried out between yesterday and today, in Kingston and St Andrew; St Ann, Trelawney, and St James.
Speaking during a press conference at the Falmouth police station this afternoon, ACP Watkis, disclosed that the cop was being held in Kingston.
He was quick to point out that the operations continue.

He says the police will not allow these activities to continue.
The operations, which were aided by international law enforcers, included members of C-TOC, the Major Organised Crime and Anti-corruption Agency, (MOCA), the Financial Investigations Division FID, Constabulary Financial Unit, the Mobile Reserve, and personnel from Area One.
ACP Watkis also disclosed that over 200 police personnel were involved in the operations that were conducted in excess of 200 locations across the four parishes.
