Vendors at the Ray Ray market in downtown Kingston have said they are frustrated by the frequency of fires at the facility.
More than 100 stalls at the market were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.
The fire also destroyed a section of the market.
It is reported that the fire started about 3:30.
Ms Marr, a vendor at Ray Ray market, said she is “sick and fed up” by the situation.
“Every three month, every two month, fire, fire, fire!” she exclaimed.
She complained about a lack of security at the facility, adding that the fires appear to be deliberately set.
Another vendor, Sonia, echoed the call for greater security at the market, while calling for assistance for vendors like herself who have been affected by this latest incident.
There was a fire at the market last August as well as one in November 2017.
The Jamaica Fire Brigade, in the meantime, is yet to determine the cause of Tuesday’s fire at Ray Ray market.
Patrick Gooden, Acting Superintendent of the Kingston and St. Andrew Division of the Brigade, said several units responded to the blaze.
