I am being told to warn unsuspecting car owners in Jamaica to be careful of who they are renting their cars to. Reports coming into JMG are that cars are being used to commit robberies and when the licenses plates are ran by the CIB, the police are led to owners who then tell them they had rented out the cars for X period of time , sometimes to persons with fictitious names.
It is also reported that there are a group of men operating in the ”Golden Triangle” who use these rentals to rob gas stations in the area. The men pull up beside cars they have already marked, shatter the back window and will take out laptops or any valuables that may be in the car at the time. They are also using these cars to do home invasion. The robberies are not being reported by mainstream media and are said to happen regularly. A white Toyata Boone, Toyata Altis are being used to carry out the acts. Please be on the alert!
