The Manchester police have confirmed that there was a shooting in the community of Grey Ground in the parish earlier today. It is believed one man has died.
Unconfirmed reports are that the incident took place at the funeral of a man who was shot dead in the adjoining community of Three Chains in October.
In that shooting, gunmen approached and shot at a group of men, who were reportedly doing preparations at a playground in the community for an entertainment event.
Two of the five men who were injured died in the incident, which the police had linked to gang conflict.
