A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) was arrested on Sunday afternoon by detectives from the Narcotics Division.
He was held at the Norman Manley International Airport after the police reportedly found six pounds of cocaine valued at over $3.3 million.
It is reported that about 4:45, the soldier checked-in for a flight to Toronto, Canada.
Detectives were alerted to his suitcase that was checked-on.
It was examined in the soldier’s presence and cocaine found.
The detectives conducted further checks and found cups with more cocaine.
The soldier is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Wednesday.
