Living a lifestyle that dwells in the presence of the Lord guarantees the banishment of fear forever. When trouble comes, God will hide you in His inner room until the war or battle is over. You will become impregnable and you will find yourself always above your enemies. The Bible in Psalm 91:1 says:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
God wants you to dwell within Him as a fortress. He wants to be your light and salvation so that there will be nothing for you to fear day and night. If you are sure that the Lord is on your side, then it is sure that there is nothing to fear according to Psalm 118:6. However, how can you say the Lord is on your side if you are committing sins – adultery, fornication, stealing, idolatry etc? You can sleep fine at night if you live holy and there will be nothing wizards and witches can do to you. You have to make sure that you are wearing something hard on your feet if you want to trample on a poisonous serpent. If you use bare feet to stamp on a serpent’s head, you may be hurt. In the same manner, you must make sure that you wear the Lord as a garment, day and night, to be able to face the devil. If you delight in obeying the Lord, you will be eternally secure.
According to the Bible reading of today, the Shield of Faith is necessary to protect us from the fiery darts of the wicked. Anybody who is fighting against the devil and casting out demons will have his name on the hit list of the enemy. However, the enemies know that as long as you are living holy, they cannot touch you. Moreover, the Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God is another potent offensive weapon in spiritual warfare. However, the word of God can only be effective as an offensive weapon if you are a doer of it (James 1 verses 22 and 25). Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego obeyed God entirely. They obeyed the commandment that they should serve no other god. They were in a foreign land where the king ordered them to disobey the word of God but they refused to obey the king’s order and they got into trouble. They were put into the fiery furnace but God brought them out alive. God said that we must pray ceaselessly and seek His face every time. Daniel obeyed this injunction. A decree was made against praying, but Daniel chose not disobey God. He was put in the lion’s den but God brought him out alive. I decree that as you obey the word of God today, the fire and lions of life will not terminate your life in Jesus’ Name.
