Two Surinamese women and a man from French Guiana, charged under the Proceeds of Crime Act, were on Thursday sentenced when they appeared before the Corporate Area Criminal Court.
Surinamese nationals Ingrid Asatie and Claudia Clijdesdale were fined $100,000 or six months in prison for possession of criminal property.
They were also fined $50,000 or six months in prison for concealment of criminal property and facilitating the retention of criminal property.
Delroy Sanduliet of a French Guiana address was fined $10,000 or three months in prison for attempting to remove criminal property from Jamaica.
The three were nabbed at Norman Manley International Airport as they attempted to leave the island on a flight to Guyana on July 22.
They were found with a large quantity of cash in various currencies.
A portion of the cash seized has been forfeited to the Crown.
