TESSANNE Chin and Sizzla Kalonji have made the Billboard charts this week.
Chin scores her first Billboard entry since 2014, with the ballad Love Suicide, which debuts at number 30 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Love Suicide, released on Chin’s Chinita Entertainment label, is the first song by a Jamaican artiste to make that Billboard list.
It was written by Blu Jane, whose credits include songs by Rihanna, Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande.
Chin charted three times on Billboard charts between 2013 and 2014. Her cover of Whitney Houston’s
I Have Nothing reached number 51 on the Hot 100 chart, while her reworking of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water stalled at number 64. Her take on The Beatles’ Let It Be peaked at number 76.
Sizzla’s latest album, 876, is his 26th entry on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. Released by Zojak Worldwide, it debuts at number three, Sizzla’s highest charter.
His first entry was Praise Ye Jah, which went to number 13 in 1997. His last album on the table was 2014’s Radical which reached number five.
876 is Sizzla’s 71st album. The 13-track set features production from Robert ‘Bobby Digital’ Dixon, Vychalle ‘Kid’ Singh, Jason ‘J-Vibe’ Farmer and Sheldon ‘Calibud’ Stewart.
Good works..!!!
Well done. I wish the best for both of them
Nice 🙂
I am amazed that Sizzla has done 71 albums. He is still doing good work as his latest effort is a gem. Kudos Tessanne!
