AFTER spending a night in jail charged with breaching a protection order, millionaire auto and real estate dealer Sheron Sukhdeo was granted bail on Thursday.
However, he will not go home as he was instructed by the magistrate to vacate his mansion which he shares with his wife, Rachael Sukhdeo.
Sukhdeo was granted $75,000 bail pending approval by the Clerk of the Peace.
Magistrate Wendy Dougdeen-Bally in granting bail instructed that Sukhdeo surrender his passport to the court.
Sukhdeo was granted bail “in absentia”. He was not in court when the case was called.
The Express was told that no prisoners were brought to court because of a water and sewage problem in the cell blocks area.
Sukhdeo’s attorney, Taradath Singh was present when Dougdeen-Bally called the matter and outlined the conditions for bail.
Sukhdeo was also ordered to keep 100 meters away from his wife and to not communicate with her.
He was also instructed to check into the Chaguanas Police Station every Tuesday and Thursday until the completion of the case.
On Wednesday Sukhdeo, 29, was refused bail and remanded into custody of the charge of breaching a protection order against his wife.
Sukhdeo, had been in custody since Tuesday when he was arrested. He remained in police custody until he was charged on Wednesday afternoon.
On his first appearance in court he pleaded not guilty before Dougdeen-Bally to the offence which was laid by constable Joseph of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department.
The case was postponed to June 14.
In February 2016, Sukhdeo, the managing director of Sheron’s Auto and Real Estate, was charged with assault against his wife and the mother of his two children, Rachael Sukhdeo. The matter was however dismissed eight months later when she told the court she not want to continue the case.
That’s a lifetime scar. Wow !
That is the old picture ? From the incident over ten months ago?
Recent picture from the recent ” domestic disturbance ” please.
This will no be accurate reporting .
Rachel, I wish you the best and freedom. You live in an amazing mansion, filthy rich, but money is not everything !
Find yourself for your two gorgeous children love .
She will go back to him, I believe. So funny after the outcry and public sympathy for Rachel, she went back to Sheron. Rachel should leave that house and start all over again, let those scars be a reminder of the flashy rich life of discomfort and pain she endured. All the best to her
