The mystery of confidence
Cast not away therefore your confidence, for it has a great recompense of reward Hebrews 10:35. Confidence as we understand it to be is generally described as a state of being certain, sure, or firm about a particular person, belief or situation. It speaks of an excessive assurance or presumption towards anything.
In today’s teaching we are about to explore this word confidence from a biblical prospective. In doing so we will discover that the word confidence, from a biblical sense suggest much more than just being sure, firm or certain about any matter. In fact we’ll unveil a rather unique revelation or mystery concerning confidence, and I promise you that at the end of this article you will come to understand that confidence has embedded in it a payment, compensation or reimbursement, if you will, for the things you’ve lost during your journey as a Believer in Jesus Christ.
The average believer in Jesus Chris in spite of how seasoned they maybe, are having a difficult time as it relates to the promises of God, during this world wide economic depression. At the same time aside from the economic depression, it would appear that as a Christian once you would have started your Christian journey suffering losses seems to be the order of the day.
I am certain that most believers reading this article right now, has either in the past or present experienced the lost of a car, job, home, finances, family etc particularly as they got deeper into their faith. Again, it challenges the promises of God issued from our pulpits, meaning for the most part it would appear as if we’re getting quite the opposite of what has been promised. For example scripture says, “We’re the head and not the tail” “We are above only and not beneath”. The silver and gold belong to God, including the cattle on a thousand hills, if this is the case, then why are we (Believers of Jesus Christ, his children) losing jobs, are homes are up for foreclosure, marriages being ripped apart if God is our Father and we are his children and he owns everything?
I will be presumptuous here and ask the following questions, which many dear not ask and they are, when is this wealth of the wicked that has been stored up going to be transferred to the righteous? When will we really be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath? Is losing all that you have makes you the head or is it preparing you to be the head?
Our opening scripture “cast not away therefore your confidence, for it has a great recompense of reward” speaks to this mystery and the necessity as to why it is mandatory that the Christian must suffer lost prior to him increasing. However the compensation or restorations of his repetitive losses are tied into his confidence.
Now, let’s dissect this scripture and unveil the revelation and mystery to this frustrating matter. Firstly, we are commanded not to fling or toss our confidence away. The bible states that the lord is our confidence Proverbs 3:16. If the Lord is our confidence and the Lord is also his word according to St. John 1: 1, then I believe it’s safe to say that the word confidence in this text is referring to God’s word. So whatever it is that we’re believing God for and the scriptures that we’re standing on as proof of that, becomes our confidence. Therefore we’re told not to toss this confidence (the word of God) away, because it has a great recompense of reward. Wow! This is where it becomes interesting. The word recompense is defined as making payment or to give compensation to somebody for an injury or loss.
The word recompense in this scripture immediately suggests that there must be a lost. Recompense can not be possible unless the prerequisite to it is the lost of something. So this scripture is in fact assuring us that there is just not recompense or compensation for our losses but a great recompense suggesting that the compensation is greater than what you originally had. Further, it is a must that we suffer lost, such as homes, cars, money etc. There should be no surprises here, yes! I know that there are those who would say this is happening to you because there is hidden sin in your life or you’re just not living right. This also is expected, because these folks are ignorant to the laws that are governing the entirety of this situation. Nevertheless you are still commanded to hold on to your confidence, because it is this confidence that carries with it your payment for the losses that you’ve experienced.
My beloved readers based on the above understanding, your loss has an awesome purpose and that purpose is for you to increase. This is how it works in the kingdom of God, you must give in order to get, and you must release in order to increase. The primary law of giving strongly and clearly dictates the following “He that gives, lose, scatters or share shall increase and he that holds on to more than is necessary shall come to poverty Proverbs 11:24.
The qualification to all of this is YOU MUST NOT GIVE UP, TOSS OR FLING AWAY THE WORD OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE, WHICH IS YOUR CONFIDENCE, WHICH HAS BUILT INTO IT A GREAT COMPENSATION, REINBURSTMENT, OR RECOMPENSE AS A REWARD FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS. As you can see you were and are being set up through your losses for greater and time is advancing you everyday to that abundance. The thing I love most about this law is that you can not receive equal or less than you originally loss, it must be greater than you originally had….. Glory to God!
So whatever it is that you’ve lost my beloved readers, make no mistake, it is only evidence that more is awaiting your arrival. Were you looking for a compatible mate? Then it was necessary that you lose that looser. Were you hoping that more money could be added to your finances? Well expect to lose your job, a cut in your pay or reduced days. Remember though, you must hold on to your confidence which is God’s word concerning your matter. The word says, “If I give it SHALL, not might, be given unto me in great measure, press down, shaken together and running over SHALL men give into your bosom. As you can see these laws are not just reserved to finances, but it effects every area of our lives.
You did not understand this process before so automatically you became frustrated, confused and wondered if God was playing a game with you. The truth is you can not master anything you don’t understand. In fact you become mastered by that which you don’t understand, and for anything to be a master over you, that thing or person without fail make you a slave to it. So, let’s begin thanking God even now for this insight to overcome what has been overcoming us via the application of this law.
The bottom line here from the Christian perspective is, loosing is a good thing, because the process of loosing is all in a divine attempt to give us more than we had prior to the loss, if we hold on to our confidence….We must release in order to active the law of increase.
The righteous shall be recompensed in the earth, much more the wicked and the sinner Proverbs 11:31
Heavenly father, I am now beginning to understand your word when you said to us that we must give thanks in all things for this is the will of God concerning us in Christ Jesus. Thank you for this spiritual insight of confidence as it relates to releasing to increase. I bless you Father because you’ve given myself and the readers of this article an incentive to continue pressing forward in spite of our losses. We understand now that you were not taking from us, but enabling us via your law for us to have more. We bless you and praise you in the matchless name of your precious son Jesus Christ. Amen!
